Benemax offers
a “kinder, gentler” approach to Consumer
Directed Health Care (CDHC). Our plans combine four essential elements:
A
"High Deductible Health Plan" (HDHP) that provides 100%
insured coverage for the 10% of members who incur more than 60% of
the claims ... but leaves enough room underneath for the employer
to benefit from the good claims experience of the 70% who incur less
than 15% of the claims.
"The
Wrap" that allows an employer to cap a member's out-of-pocket
exposure at the same time that the employer continues to participate
in the member's favorable claims experience.
A
"Benefit Bank" which allows an employee to build up funds
for future healthcare needs. Available "accounts" include
FSA, HSA & HRA.
"Concierge
Customer Service”, a combination of hands-on and on-line services
that promote members’ health, foster pro-active consumer behavior,
and deliver on-going employee education
& customer service.
These features can be combined in various ways to create different levels of
Consumer Direction:
Virtual Indemnity Plan (VIP), our first stage CDHP,
simply combines a high deductible PPO or POS with a thin layer of
employer-funded benefits (Wrap). Employer benefits from employees'
good claims experience while members enjoy freedom to use doctors
and hospitals of their choice.
Triple Option Plan (TOP), our second stage,
allows each employee to choose among three benefit levels
and pay an appropriate premium differential accordingly:
 |
"Gold" level
typically provides VIP benefits (100% benefits, 100% freedom).
|
 |
"Silver" level
exposes the employee to modest out-of-pocket costs.
|
 |
"Bronze" level
provides catastrophic protection only: the employee takes responsibility
for a higher deductible in exchange for lower premiums.
|
Benefit Banks:
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) allows the employee (or employer) to
fund on year's out-of-pocket health care costs with pre-tax dollars.
A Health Savings Account (HSA) allows the employee (or employer) to accumulate
pre-tax dollars to fund current or future health care costs.
A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) allows the employer to fund an accumulating "benefit
bank" for each employee.
Concierge Service:
Benemax clients, regardless of plan design, enjoy Concierge-level Customer Service.
Our Independent Patient Advocate delivers experienced, dedicated and truly independent
customer service while our Virtual
Benefit Manager allows employees and HR personnel to manage benefits on-line.
